Why we produce recycled cashmere fiber?

Four goats are needed to produce enough fibre to make one single cashmere sweater, whereas one sheep produces enough fibre to make five wool sweaters.
To meet the demand for accessible and affordable cashmere products, farmers have excessively increased the number of their own herds, leading to the widespread desertification of Mongolian prairies.

NEW cashmere is not a sustainable product, as its use has a disastrous environmental impact.

The strong growth in demand on cashmere, the deep respect for the environment and our family tradition are the ingredients of the recycled cashmere fibre.
According to the circular economy and Life Cycle Assessment principles, we process the vintage raw material (cashmere sweaters) to obtain the so-called flock; the flock is then processed by the spinning mills into a chachemire yarn bobbin. The cashmere yarn is used by the weaving mills to give life to garments or textiles (e.g. quilts and cushion covers).
